John Tobino- Spring Semester Update

I’ve made some significant progress since the start of the spring, my first Act is on track and is estimated to be complete with a possible presentation by the end of the month/first week of March. I’ve employed several new and different techniques between the end of the Fall semester and the start of Spring, ranging from different styles of approaching special effects, to testing out new ways to lip-sync, although ironically the 1st Act is the only one that’s going to feature lip-sync since the song I chose for it melded really well with the story I wanted to tell in this act. “Piemations”, on YouTube, own video addressing how he was going to approach lipsync from now-on in his own videos was a great reference and inspiration for me teaching myself how to better understanding drawing lip-synch

I’m currently investigating ways to get more dramatic with camera movement, angular illusions (ie making the background look more distant/vast than it really is by tinkering with landscape layer tweens), and dramatic angles.

I still believe I’m on track to have the entire story done and animated by the end of the semester and ready for Senior Showcase.

  1. Hi I really like your project I think the animation is really cool. I also like your song choice I really think you portrayed it well in the video. It looks like you are in good shape and I cannot wait to see how it turn outs.
