During the Fall of 2020 one of my biggest goals for this upcoming Spring semester included undertaking all the legal work of legitimizing my business, Slick Motion LLC. Over winter break, I took advantage of my free time and completed all of the legal work. This has now opened the opportunity for me to use the entire semester in a more real world approach. Start developing clients, building a network, and creating revenue with the guidance of Professor Buckleitner, IMM staff, and fellow students. I am now a legal business owner in the state of New Jersey with my business officially titled “Slick Motion LLC.” I have hired an attorney and also invested in liability insurance for my business. I also have created a new bank account and credit card strictly for my business to help track revenue for tax purposes. Now that the legal stuff is out of the way, I can devote the next few weeks of my time to fine tuning my website and updating it with the work I completed over break. I will then fully launch my website and start marketing my brand to the world via social media and word of mouth, hopefully the IMM staff can help spread the word as well! For the remainder of the semester, I plan on implementing my business into NJ,PA,NY and tracking my growth. I want to organize and track all the work I do during the semester and document it. Showing what is possible while you are still a student!
To sum it all up, I have dreams of becoming my own boss. I don’t want to work the typical 9-5 routine. I love diversity and new experiences, along with the freedom to act on impulse. I plan on using every resource I have for the remainder of my time at TCNJ to facilitate these dreams coming true.
