Prototype 3 – how it went

With prototype 3, I went into class more confident and even more excited to share what I had come up with. I felt really good about Mozilla Hubs, and what I was able to learn and explore with the program. I think it holds much potential for follow IMM thesis students to display their works, as well as my specific project.

Making of Prototype 3

So for this prototype, i had to get familiar with the program that is Mozilla hubs. Luckily – it had a simple interface that I could work with and understand. I think the thing that gave me the most trouble was the actual workspace. Working in 3D spaces like maya isn’t really my strong suit – however, i was able to pick up some key things like placement and size pretty fast, giving me confidence that I could learn this pretty quickly.

This should lead you to the hub, if you wanted to try it 🙂 !

What I got from feedback

I’m glad my classmates understood my pitch and what I was goin for, and Now i need to focus more on the type of experience I want to create in this 3d space, where I want to go with it and what i want to create. I think I want to create a live experience, and I need to decide wether or not multiple people can go through it at a time. I really do want this to be an art exhibition in the digital space that one can come onto whenever they feel like it. I think I need to refine what exactly it is that i’m doing with these tools, and how i can give an experience to the audience that reminds them of what it might be like to have an experience in a museum that just captivates you.

Nevertheless, I’m excited to refine and gather the necessary footage over winter break to construct and begin assembling the experience. I’m much more pleased now that I have a digital workspace to start in, rather than the original physical plan.
