WHAT’S POSSIBLE WITH 5G?
Because 5G towers and cells are less environmentally intrusive than 4G towers, they can be put up in more places. This allows technology sporting 5G capabilities to work in more places than most current technologies can. For my thesis project, an AR multiplayer mobile game, the expanse of 5G will help the game become playable in more places.
5G not only helps out with the the advent of mobile gaming, it can also help with competitive gaming and E-Sports. Latency refresh rates can make or break a game or competition, so with a Wi-Fi service as versatile and powerful as 5G, lag and connectivity issues can be resolved. This can also help with online learning. The outbreak of Covid-19 has shown how important it is for powerful and stable internet connectivity. 5G’s potency will keep students connected and the expanse will allow more to be connected.
As stated in the beginning, I am developing an AR mobile game. Gameplay will require users to move around to battle their characters, and the expanse of 5G capabilities will make sure players can play the game in more places with no worries about the game crashing or lagging.
Learning what I did from the Zoom seminar, I figured that making a mobile game in the advent of powerful wifi connectivity was the best course of action.
