For my thesis I decided to do a vlog of my life as I pursue the American dream. I’m going to film adventures and obstacles I encounter as the year goes on while also going to document some of the experiences I went through as I was trying to adjust to life in America. The purpose of this project is to show people what it is like to live as an immigrant in America. I also hope to inspire other immigrants in this country to pursue their dreams.
My idea for this project is to film my life as an immigrant in America, to share my story as I try to pursue my dreams. Coming to America I had no idea what it was going to be like to be in a completely different country. After 10 years I have completely adjusted to life in this country, but it was a long road to come to get to where I am today. Most immigrants in this country come to America looking for the so-called “American dream” but this idea is farfetched because it is difficult for immigrants. Originally for this project I was just going to film a normal vlog but I was inspired by my own experiences and I decided to tell my story. I plan to do a short film/vlog. I am going to vlog my life now but also express the path it took for me to get here.
Some struggles I’m is trying to portray my life now and life in the past. I plan to show my struggles as an immigrant but also show my life now and how far I have come. Editing this project is going to be the biggest concern, I’m not the best at editing but I am exciting to learn a few things along the way.

This sounds like a really interesting idea and I like the fact that you’re including both your experiences in the past and present. As an immigrant myself, I like how one of the reasons you are making this is to show people what it is like moving from a completely different country and culture. One question I have is do you plan on making the vlog purely from your perspective or are you going to be including other immigrants like your family. In regards to depicting your past, you could possibly show it through old pictures with a voiceover or through drawings.
